What I can say is that the same buying discipline applies: get sample testing, get line-item pricing, get service response commitments, and buy original supplies. That's the difference between a machine that works and a machine that makes your life worse.
When I started in this role, the vendors who treated our $200 orders seriously are the ones I still use for $20,000 orders. That still applies to laser systems. The right supplier for a small buyer is the one who runs tests, answers questions, and sends a real invoice.
